Zenbu Kitchen Started in an Unexpected Place — Recovery.
After tearing my Achilles, I suddenly found myself with something I hadn’t had in years: time. I needed a hobby to stay busy during recovery, so I picked up painting. It seemed like the perfect creative outlet… but I quickly realized painting just wasn’t for me. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t find the joy in it.
Then one night, I decided to cook a steak.
What started as a simple meal turned into something much bigger. I became obsessed with learning techniques, experimenting with flavors, and improving every time I stepped into the kitchen. One steak turned into trying new cuts, then new cuisines, then full meals. Cooking became more than just a hobby — it became a passion.
As I spent more time cooking, I also realized how important the tools were. A great cutting board, for example, isn’t just a surface — it’s where every meal begins. I found myself searching for kitchen tools that were functional, beautiful, and built to last. That search eventually led to creating my own.
Zenbu Kitchen was born from that journey — from injury to creativity, from frustration to passion, from a single steak to a love of cooking.
